Breast Cancer Candlelight VigiL
This important community event incorporates the truly unique and beautiful New Mexican tradition of lighting luminarias. For some, these Lights of Life glow as an affirmation of the courage of those who live with a cancer diagnosis. For others, these lights shine as a lovely tribute for those whose memories remain. For all, these lights illuminate the hope that exists that some day breast cancer will be eradicated and that, until then, those that are affected by breast cancer will feel supported and part of a community that cares.
Pink Shawl
The Pink Shawl Project provides breast health education in a safe and culturally relevant manner. The Project Shows support to the survivors, their family members, caretakers and medical providers and provides a sense of community connection with others who have undergone the same struggle. The 2nd Annual New Mexico Native American Women's Pink Shawl Project will be held May 17, 2008 at the Albuquerque Balloon Museum Field, 9201 Balloon Museum Dr. NE.
