This New Mexico Cancer Care Alliance video describes the phases of research studies, the risk and benefits of participating in research, the role of the Institutional Research Board to provide oversight for patient safety and the processes needed for a study to be approved to open and enroll patients. It also introduces you to some of the NMCCA physician participants who may answer some of your questions about cancer clinical research studies or prompt you to think of your own.
